Aging Kitchen Cabinets
HBO’s hit show True Blood takes place in a fictional Southern town. As you would expect, the set design plays an essential part in conveying a creepy, small town feel. Alan Ball is not only the talented creator of this captivating show, but there are also reports that he personally goes to the South in order to buy furniture and other pieces that he feels will make the show feel more authentic. All the details aren’t accidental, as the crew puts detail into everything from Sookie’s kitchen cabinets to the colors used on set. If you look at the cabinets, there is a soft yellow tone that makes the kitchen feel more homey and welcoming. This is what they hoped to accomplish for the protagonist’s home.
Southern Kitchen Design
As you imagine, it takes a lot of work to come up with the right kitchen design. For this vampire series, the main character’s home and kitchen is so important because many important scenes take place here. The audience wants to see something believable and inviting – maybe even have design elements that they can integrate into their own home. As the show is filmed in some parts of the south and throughout Los Angeles, I personally think the set designers do a great job and setting the Southern mood. What do you think?
Forget the Cherry Kitchen
While set designers opt away from a dark cherry kitchen for Sookie’s place, they show a different story with Bill, the resident vampire. Many scenes take place in Bill’s living room and the overall feel that it is a dark place that wants to make a transitional change to more modern times. Not bad for a vampire pushing 200 years old! While some of Bill’s furniture seems old-fashioned, the art directors have gradually added more modern elements to show Bill’s desire to transform over the seasons. Check it out as the show’s third season premiered earlier this month on HBO.

Kitchen Cabinet Completes Your Design
We all spend a lot of time wonder what kinds of utensils, kitchen accessories and dinner ware would make a good fit in our kitchen. But when was the last time you took a good look at your kitchen cabinet layout? Cabinets are an essential part of your kitchen furniture and you should put careful consideration and planning if you’re looking for a makeover. If your kitchen is looking a little outdated, you’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish with new cabinetry.
Contemporary Oak Kitchen Cabinets
Oak kitchen cabinets can freshen the look of your kitchen and give you a new design perspective. Oak cabinets are visually appealing because of the rich qualities but also are an ideal material in the kitchen place. They offer the space and strength that you need to store and organize all your kitchen goods. When you choose oak cabinets with clean lines, this will add a modern look to your kitchen and open up the space in your kitchen.
Enjoy Your Cherry Kitchen
Many owners prefer a uniform look in the kitchen. This helps things look more organized and less cluttered. If you don’t want to go for a monochromatic look, a cherry kitchen is the perfect choice. Like oak wood, cherry wood is also great for the kitchen environment. The sleek top coat of new cherry cabinets will bright a shine to your kitchen place that you’ll appreciate for years to come. Remember that you don’t have to coordinate your kitchen from top to bottom. Cherry wood is great if you want to go darker or lighter for floor paneling and kitchen islands.
