3 Heroin Overdoses Raise Awareness for Addiction Rehabilitation Services

Drug Addiction Rehabilitation Services
Three overdoses occurred during a 3 day span this week in Santa Barbara. Although the Santa Barbara Police Department claim that there are only a few occurrences, this is a clear outcry for addiction rehabilitation services in this area. These recent deaths have led police to believe that dealers are selling a more potent version of the illegal drug.

Is a Center for Addiction Treatment Necessary?
Over the years, heroin and other hard drugs have changed in chemical properties. Because it’s hard to tell where these drugs have originated from, it’s dangerous to even use heroin once. It may sound scary but it’s not uncommon for an individual to overdose from one use. A center for addiction treatment is the best place to get help from heroin addiction. Since the drug is so powerful, withdrawal symptoms can be extremely painful and even dangerous without medical supervision.

Family Treatment to Face the Grief

Family treatment is also an important option for individuals who are prone to relapse. Research and experience has shown that addicts with a strong support system are more likely to have a healthy outlook on recovery. In the end, family involvement will also give them a stable path as they continue their journey into sobriety. This tragic incident in Santa Barbara is just one example and shows that it can happen anywhere else throughout the country.
